Visits

Perla association is active in several regions of French-speaking Switzerland, where it goes to meet people who prostitute themselves, whether in erotic salons, cabarets or on the streets. These visits aim to:

Tell them that they have a right to dignity
Tell them that they are entitled to the respect of human rights.
Establish a relationship of trust to better target their needs
Offer them concrete help
Rescue and protect them if necessary.

Every year we visit more than 700 people. A number of them benefit from accompaniment and various courses. Many leave prostitution with our support.

Restoration and reintegration

Unspeakable abuse, deception, intense fear… victims of trafficking need to be treated and restored so that they can live a normal life. They are offered therapeutic follow-ups. In addition, Perla Association offers a reintegration programme which includes different stages, from basic French classes to professional training.

Perla association has a daytime reception centre for prostitutes to offer them listening, information, follow-up and reintegration. It offers courses, discussion groups, meals, and various practical aids.

As of 2022, a 24/7 shelter will welcome victims of trafficking who wish to benefit from our exit programme in a secure and professional setting with the aim of reintegrating them.

Alexandra* was sold by her parents at the age of 16. While she thought she was working in a strawberry field in Spain, she found herself face to face with a tattooed man who explained to her what he wanted from her. Forced into prostitution, she became pregnant very quickly. For years, she tried to get out of this hell, including by agreeing to become the girlfriend of an elderly client. Two years after arriving in Switzerland, she approached Perla association for help. Her daughter was hiding in her apartment in Switzerland and we helped her to go to school. Our support enabled Alexandra to get out of prostitution.

Nina* asked for our help when she had just started working as a prostitute. Indebted, despised by her family, she didn’t know how to get out of it. With a strong will, Nina fought to regain her dignity and get out of prostitution. The association supported her financially and enabled her to find housing. She got out of prostitution and is now undergoing training to become financially independent.

To provide informations about risky situations (Lover Boy, etc)
To avoid becoming a consumer or actor in human trafficking
To inform population and authorities about the reality of human trafficking and its "collateral effects" (pornography, sexual addiction, etc.)
To give tools, tips and advice
To limit the action of abusers

This prevention can take place in schools and other learning centers, by stands, collaboration with public authorities, churches, associations, as well as training or video broadcasts.

Perla association seeks to establish a network of collaboration with all organizations working directly or indirectly, locally, nationally or internationally on the problem of human trafficking.

We aim to collaborate with all relevant bodies in the fight against human trafficking and in assisting victims. Laws must allow an effective fight against human trafficking and we offer our knowledge and experience of the prostitution industry in drafting or amending them.

Perla association has its headquarters in Switzerland, where it is active. Perla is developing its activity in other countries.
